Whether you are interested in a Math Center course, on-campus tutoring, or online tutoring, you'll need to enroll in a Math 44 attendance tracking course. For a flow diagram of the enrollment process, please click here for more information.
1. Register for Math 44,
CRN 94507
You will need to register for Math 44 to obtain tutoring. Math 44 is a tutorial class, it is zero units, and does not cost anything. This class is used to track the hours a student spends in the Math Center while going through the process of getting their add-code or recieving tutoring services. Registering for Math 44 also automatically adds you to an online Math 44 course in Blackboard/WebCT where you may obtain online tutoring. To register, you can either bring your CSID to the Math Center, or call the Math Center for an add code to enroll in Math 44 using Reg-e. If you have a tutoring referral code from your math instructor, bring that as well.
Computers are available in the cafeteria for registration. The Reg-e website is: https://studentweb.sdccd.edu/reg-e/
2. Online tutoring
When you register for the Math 44 course on Reg-e, Math 44 will be added to your course list on MyBlackboard within two hours. Log onto Blackboard (go to : online.sdccd.edu)
You will be prompted for a Username and Password.
Username: CSID (xxxxxxx)
Password: Birthdate (mm/dd/yyyy)
Once in the course, you can post messages on the discussion board, email online tutors, and chat by appointment with a tutor using text messages and an interactive whiteboard.
You can also view the Math Center Orientation. When the orientation is complete, take the orientation quiz. A score of 20 or more is required to complete the orientation. You can take the quiz as necessary to achieve a score of 20. The Orientation Handout document (also in the Orientation folder) can help if you need a reference for the quiz.
Once you pass the Orientation Quiz, return to the Math Center to obtain your add code for your Math 35, 95, or 96 course.
3. On-campus walk-in tutoring
Bring your student ID card (CSID) to the Math Center to receive walk-in tutoring during hours of operation (see Center Hours). Your CSID is required at all times to use the Math Center.
